SINAMICS S210: Reset parameters, the safety parameters und the Webserver passwords

In order to erase the complete parameterization including the Safety parameterization and the Webserver passwords please proceed as follows:
  • Create a file with the name “updater.inf” containing the text “UPDATE_FORMAT_RW 0 1” or download the file from Siemens website. updater.zip (1 KB)
  • Copy the file “updater.inf” onto an empty SD-Card (max. 2GB, e.g. 6SL3054-4AG00-2AA0).
  • Turn the converter off and insert the SD-Card into the card slot of the converter.
  • Turn the converter back on and wait until the startup of the converter has completed (RDY LED permanently green).
  • Turn the converter off and remove the SD-Card*.
  • Turn the converter back on and perform a new parameterization of the converter – if required – including Safety parameterization and acceptance test.
Reset the Web server passwords, parameters& safety parameters

Important Note: (The SD-Card needs to be removed after erasing the parameters as the converter will go on erasing parameters with every startup when this SD-Card remains in the converter.
When the Card remains in the converter after erasing the parameters and a new parameterization is saved then the converter will start-up with the parameters stored on the SD-Card even though the file “updater.inf” is still present. This parameterization remains active also after removing the card.)
Note:
·         When erasing the parameters with this SD-Card only the parameterization will be reset to factory defaults/ delivery state. The installed SINAMICS Runtime software will be maintained completely therefore a reinstallation is not required.
·         The communication settings (IP-Configuration or device name) of the Service interface (X127) and the PROFINET interface (X150) are not modified by the erasure process and will be retained!
·         Please observe that the access to the Webserver is only possible via the Service interface (X127) after erasing the parametrization. The access via the PROFINET interface (X150) is only possible after enabling the access in the Webserver “System -> Settings -> IP-Connections”.
