Question

In STEP 7 HW Config, why is a maintenance request signaled at the CU320-2 PN / CU310-2 PN when allocating NameOfStation? The MAINT LED of the CPU lights up yellow.

Answer

Fault status:

In the HW configuration in Step 7, a maintenance request is signaled at the CU320-2 PN/CU310-2 PN.The message (under details for the diagnostics) is as follows:
A Name Of station was already configured/allocated for an additional interface of this module,
which is identical to what was entered for this interface.

Cause of the error:

CU3x0-2 PN modules have an IE and a PN interface.
Not only must the addresses of the IE (X127) and the PN interface (X150) be different.
Also, the name of the X127 (r8910) must be different than the name of the X150 (r8930).

Remedy:

Establish a connection to the interface X127 of the CU, and allocate a different name.

Note:



In this particular case, a multi-interface error is signaled in the TIA Portal.
